What does each product do?

Inspack covers review and approval in one platform:

  • Compliance review: checks packaging, labels, ads, websites, and product listings against the regulations of each market. Inspack maintains these rules and updates them automatically.
  • Proofreading: checks artwork against your briefs, brand guidelines, master labels, and SDS files, including spelling.
  • Findings and fixes: explains each issue, cites the rule, and suggests a fix.
  • Workflow and approvals: tasks with owners, roles, and reminders, annotations, version comparison, and a full approval workflow for accepting each version, with an asset library and a full audit trail.

Artwork Flow covers the artwork lifecycle in four modules:

  • Workflow automation: a workflow builder with templates, projects, tasks, and dashboards.
  • Online proofing: annotations, version compare, spell check, color, barcode, and measurement tools, plus e-signatures.
  • Digital asset management: a central library with version control, AI tagging, and search.
  • Smart Compliance (ComplyAI): AI checks against rulebooks your team sets up.

How does each tool handle common tasks?

Checking a new label against regulations and brand rules

Inspack applies the rulesets for your markets, either the ones you pick or the ones its AI suggests from the scan, together with your brand guidelines. It returns each finding with a severity, the rule behind it, and suggested replacement copy.

In Artwork Flow, the team builds a rulebook for the product, for example allergen wording, nutrition table format, and font sizes. ComplyAI then runs it on the whole file or on a selected section, highlighting each error on the artwork.

Taking artwork from brief to sign-off

Both platforms run this job end to end. In Inspack, the brief is checked for required wording and claims before design starts. Each step is assigned to an owner with reminders, reviewers annotate proofs and compare versions side by side, approvers accept the final version, and every step is recorded in the audit trail. Each new version is also checked against regulations automatically.

In Artwork Flow, a workflow template moves the artwork through each stakeholder, reviewers annotate and compare versions, approvers sign with e-signatures, and the approved file lands in the DAM.

Reviewing ads, websites, and retailer listings

Inspack checks marketing content against platform policies from Meta, Google, TikTok, and LinkedIn, and checks packaging and listings against retailer requirements from Amazon, Walmart, Costco, and Tesco. Artwork Flow's proofing and brand checks work on marketing creatives, and its compliance rules focus on packaging labels.

Who maintains the compliance rules?

With Inspack, the regulation rules are maintained for you. It follows 100+ regulatory sources such as FDA, EPA, and EFSA, updates the affected rulesets, dates each change, and re-checks content a change affects.

Artwork Flow gives teams a rule builder and industry examples, from FDA nutrition panels to TTB alcohol statements, and the team decides which rules go into each rulebook. We did not find a description of how Artwork Flow tracks regulation changes.

How do data handling and security compare?

Both vendors run cloud platforms and publish a trust center.

Artwork Flow states ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 certification, and offers SSO, activity logging, and document encryption on Enterprise.

Inspack is currently undergoing a SOC 2 Type 2 audit. It keeps each client's data in a separate workspace, uses it only for that client's model, and offers SSO and an optional dedicated environment on Enterprise. Details are on the Inspack trust center.

How do you get started, and what does it cost?

Both vendors publish their plans. Artwork Flow has a free plan for small teams, and its paid plans start at $8,000 per year based on artwork volume. Inspack offers two ways to start: book a demo, or sign up and test the tool yourself on a 7-day free trial.

Frequently asked questions

Is Artwork Flow the same as Esko WebCenter Go?

Artwork Flow joined Esko in October 2024 and is now available as WebCenter Go on the Esko cloud. The Artwork Flow team continues to build the product.

What is the difference between artwork management and compliance review software?

Artwork management software organizes how artwork moves: workflows, proofs, versions, and approved files. Compliance review software checks whether the content itself meets regulations and brand rules. Many platforms now offer both, with different depth on each side.

How much does artwork management software cost?

Prices range from free plans for small teams to custom enterprise contracts. Artwork Flow's paid plans start at $8,000 per year, and Inspack's plans start at $99 per month.

Can AI replace manual label proofreading?

Not fully. AI tools catch many errors earlier and faster, but a reviewer should still sign off on high-stakes packaging before print.
